Our practice

A small lab at the edge of the Sawtooths.

Sawtooth Spore Company started the way most good things in Idaho do — quietly, in a garage, with more curiosity than budget. Today we operate a modest but rigorously maintained mycology lab producing spore syringes, liquid cultures, and agar plates for researchers across the country.

Every product is prepared under a HEPA-filtered flow hood, then batch-tested for contamination before it ships. We keep our catalog small on purpose — we'd rather do a dozen strains impeccably than a hundred sloppily.

Our spore prints come from mature specimens grown in-house or sourced from collaborators we know personally. We don't buy blindly. We don't cut corners on sterilization. And we don't ship anything we wouldn't put on our own slides.

The fine print

All products are sold strictly for microscopy and taxonomy research. Customers must be 18 years of age or older. We do not sell to jurisdictions where possession of any particular species is unlawful. Please know your local law.
